In a recent incident in Delhi, a restaurant located in Pitampura has decided to provide discounts to women who visit wearing traditional Indian clothing on Raksha Bandhan. This decision follows a viral video where a couple claimed they were denied entry to the establishment due to their attire. Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra shared a post highlighting the restaurant manager's offer of discounts for women in traditional wear on this festive occasion.
The video, which surfaced on Friday, featured a couple outside the restaurant recounting their experience of being refused entry. They alleged that while other patrons were allowed in, they were turned away solely because they were dressed in traditional Indian clothing. The couple claimed that both the manager and hostess were unwelcoming towards them.

The individual who filmed the incident expressed outrage, arguing that the restaurant should not be allowed to operate if it discriminates against patrons based on their clothing.
As the video gained traction online, Minister Kapil Mishra acknowledged the situation, informing that Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was made aware of the issue.
Mishra stated, "This behavior is unacceptable in Delhi. A video has emerged showing a ban on Indian attire at a restaurant in Pitampura. CM @gupta_rekhaji has taken serious note of the incident. Officials have been instructed to investigate and take prompt action."

Mishra later announced that the restaurant management agreed to stop enforcing any dress code restrictions. However, Neeraj Aggarwal, the restaurant owner, refuted the claims, stating that the couple was not allowed entry because they had not made a reservation. He emphasized that there is no dress code and that all customers are welcome. The incident has ignited a debate on social media, with some users demanding action against the restaurant despite the Chief Minister's involvement.
"Shut the restaurant down. And if it has any branches elsewhere, shut those down too. This very mentality has tormented us for years," one user commented, while another remarked, "A minister and CM had to be involved for entry into a restaurant. What else can the common man hope for?"
